Beyond EV Charger Manufacturing: How ZPNET Integrates Hardware, Engineering and Software

As the EV charging industry evolves, businesses need more than reliable charging equipment. Distributors, charging operators and project developers also need flexible hardware, product customization and software that supports their operations.

ZPNET brings these capabilities together through in-house PCBA and firmware development, EV charger manufacturing and charging-management cloud platform development. Our integrated approach helps customers explore charging solutions tailored to their markets and business requirements.

A Manufacturing Foundation Built on Engineering Experience

ZPNET’s overseas business is operated by Guangdong Zhongpan New Energy, the dedicated overseas-sales subsidiary of Foshan Shunde Kaixiang Electrical Co., Ltd. Kaixiang handles EV charger production, while Zhongpan focuses on international market development and after-sales support.

Established in 2005, the manufacturing organization is based in Foshan, Guangdong, China. Its approximately 35,000 m² manufacturing base includes 21 assembly lines and 12 surface-mount technology (SMT) lines. With more than 500 employees, including over 10% in electronics engineering, the company combines manufacturing capacity with engineering expertise.

Supported by ISO 9001-based quality management and digital production systems, this foundation provides a basis for developing and manufacturing charging products for different markets.

In-House PCBA and Firmware Development

Unlike manufacturers that rely entirely on externally sourced control boards, ZPNET develops and manufactures core charging PCBA boards and firmware in-house.

This capability gives us greater control over hardware development and greater flexibility to adapt electronic components to project requirements. For OEM and ODM customers, it creates opportunities to customize PCBA designs, firmware and complete charging equipment according to their technical specifications.

By connecting electronic engineering with charger manufacturing, ZPNET can coordinate product development from core hardware to the finished charger.

Connecting Charging Hardware with Cloud Software

Charging equipment is only one part of a connected charging business. Operators may also need tools to manage charging sessions, monitor stations, organize users and access operational data.

ZPNET has its own charging-management cloud platform and offers customization services for businesses seeking a solution suited to their operating model.

Depending on project requirements, development and customization options may include white-label branding, customized applications or mini-programs, independent overseas server deployment, and further development based on OCPP 1.6 or OCPP 2.0J requirements.

Our approach brings hardware and software requirements into the same project discussion, helping customers explore an integrated charging solution rather than sourcing every component independently.

Solutions for Different Charging Applications

ZPNET’s charging solutions address different operating environments, including public bus charging and intelligent parking-lot charging.

Public Bus Charging

Bus operators need charging configurations that suit fleet schedules, vehicle requirements and site infrastructure. Depending on the project, ZPNET can provide containerized or integrated DC charging system configurations based on the required power and operational needs.

Intelligent Parking-Lot Charging

Commercial buildings, parking facilities and residential communities may require convenient charging access, payment options and operational monitoring. ZPNET combines charging equipment with digital service capabilities to support the requirements of drivers and facility operators, subject to the selected configuration.

OEM and ODM Solutions Built Around Your Requirements

Different customers need different levels of customization. Some require tailored electronic hardware, while others want branded charging products or a charging-management platform developed around their business model.

ZPNET supports OEM and ODM cooperation across PCBA boards, complete EV chargers and charging-management software. Customers can discuss their technical requirements, branding preferences and desired software functions with our team to determine an appropriate development scope.

The aim is to provide a flexible foundation for businesses developing their own charging products and services.

Your Partner for Integrated EV Charging Solutions

With a manufacturing history dating back to 2005, six granted patents and reported annual sales of RMB 300 million, the broader manufacturing organization brings established industrial experience to ZPNET’s EV charging business. Its long-term cooperation with brands including Midea, Philips, Whirlpool, SEB, Donlim and Hisense further reflects its experience in electrical product manufacturing.

By combining manufacturing resources, in-house PCBA and firmware development, and charging-management platform capabilities, ZPNET aims to support customers seeking more than a standalone charger.
